About Us

CitrisSan® is a small home business located on the outskirts of Richmond, VA in Chesterfield County. The idea of CitrisSan® was born out of a shortage of hand sanitizer in the USA as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Inspired by the pleasant scents of citrus fruits, our signature scents are Lemon, Lime and Grapefruit citrus.  CitrisSan was founded on March 30, 2020.

Product Preparation

Our products are prepared from a mixture of Certified USP Ethyl Alcohol, 91% organic Aloe Vera Gel and 100% cold pressed fruit peel essential oils. Our final alcohol content is 60% Alcohol which is the recommended percentage per CDC to kill most germs. The final concentration of our alcohol and Aloe solution is measured using a Refractometer and Hydrometer. The fruit peel essential oils may or may not have a natural color.  The color is naturally occurring.  We do not add any additional color additives to our hand sanitizer. For a list of ingredients for each product, please read the ingredients list before making your purchase.

Product Testing

CitrisSan® Hand Sanitizer is tested at an accredited laboratory for alcohol percentages. This includes testing for percentages of ethyl alcohol. We also have testing performed for methanol to ensure there is none present in CitrisSan® Hand Sanitizer.

Proper hand sanitizer use

Place the recommended amount of hand sanitizer (roughly the size of a quarter) in the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together thoroughly, including the space between your fingers. Stop rubbing your hands once the skin is dry.

Whenever possible, proper hand washing with soap and water is recommended. However, in any case where soap and water is not available, using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer is a convenient solution for effectively cleaning and killing germs.

FYI

We prime all of our dispensing pumps and sprayers before they leave our facility.  We do this to ensure that there are no malfunctioning of dispensers.
